Skin resurfacing
Often patients with active lifestyles and chronic exposure to the sun are unhappy with superficial wrinkles, red vessels, and age spots. Resurfacing is changing or renewing the texture and outer appearance of your skin by using abrasion, chemicals, light therapy or lasers.
Laser treatments range from in-office procedures to requiring general anesthesia for full face resurfacing. Lasers work by emitting a powerful beam of light that causes a superficial burn of the skin. As new living cells replace layers of dead skin cells, the skin tightens and grows back smoother with fewer wrinkles. Lasers are effective for treating sun-damaged skin, mild acne scarring, age spots, skin discolorations, and many facial scars and wrinkles.
fractional co2 laser........ ...............................
As a person ages, their collagen production begins to decline which leads to the breakdown of the skin’s underlying support structure. Daily exposure to UV rays other environmental elements, and genetics can cause the skin to become discolored and premature wrinkles may emerge. Treatments with the Fractional CO2 laser provide wrinkle reduction, overall tissue tightening and textural improvement. The skin will have a smoother, tighter appearance and pigmentation will be diminished.
Intense pulse light (ipl)....... ............................
Photorejuvenation involves the use of pulsed light to stimulate the production of the body’s own collagen. It is ideal for women and men of all skin types who desire improvement in fine lines, wrinkles, facial spider veins, texture, blemishes, and brown spots.
dermabrasion...... ................................................
Dermabrasion is another resurfacing tool that acts as a mechanical sander to help smooth out your skin. This can be done in the office or operating room depending on what areas would benefit from treatment.
Chemical Peels.... ...............................................
Chemical peels to the skin (which often called chemosurgery) use a chemical solution to remove the top layers of the damaged skin. New cells form during healing, producing a tighter, more youthful-appearing skin. Chemical peels have proven successful in restoring wrinkled, sun-damaged, and blemished skin. The final result depends on the depth the chemical peel penetrates. Dr. Leake offers superficial, medium, and deep peels. They can be applied to the entire face or selected areas such as the mouth or cheeks.
