Facial Contouring

A well defined facial skeleton structure gives balance to the face and is an integral part of ones profile. Facial contouring places an emphasis on reshaping and providing structure for the foundation for soft tissues.

Rhinoplasty (Nose) ..................... ....................
Nose enhancement/ correcting the aging nose/ changing the shape of the nose, or rhinoplasty, is the most common facial plastic surgery procedure. The nose is the most defining characteristic of the face so subtle changes can greatly improve one’s appearance. Nasal surgery can be performed on any part of the nose to increase or reduce its size; to modify the size and shape of the nostrils, tip, or bridge; or to alter the slope or angle of the nose. Rhinoplasty may also be performed to correct an injury or birth defect, or to improve breathing. Dr. Leake has preformed volumes of rhinoplasties and specializes on revision cases. Balance is achieved by creating a nose that is symmetrical to the face and body.

Otoplasty (ear pinning).................. ............
Ear surgery, or otoplasty, is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears. The incisions are behind the ear and the cartilages is shaped with sutures. This is often performed on children after the age of four; however, many adults opt to have ear surgery to rectify life-long concerns and improve self-image.

Chin/Cheek Implants .................. .................
The chin is as important as the eyes and nose in overall facial aesthetics. Both balance and proportion are recognized as essential foundations of beauty. With the exception of rhinoplasty, no single plastic surgery contributes more to facial balance than a chin implant. For men, a strong chin is a very important contribution to the masculine look. Today, many women also want a stronger, more well-defined chin. Adding to the chin structure through certain injectables, autologus fat, or an implant can create a more balanced profile by strengthening a receding chin, reducing a deep fold under the lower lip, or widening a small chin. A chin enhancement can improve the results from various surgeries, such as a face lift or neck liposuction. Patients dissatisfied with the size of their nose may actually be talking about a nose that is out of proportion to the face. Patients who perceive their nose as being too big might be surprised when correcting the chin proportion enters the equation. High cheekbones have traditionally been a sign of beauty. Men and women frequently desire to correct a flatness in the mid face. This can be performed with injectables, autologus fat, midface lift or an implant. As is the case with chin augmentation, cheek augmentation is frequently combined with other cosmetic procedures to create a more balanced face.

Lip Augmentation.................. ......................
If you were born with thin or disproportioned lips or if aging has caused your lips to flatten, you can correct this concern. Thin, aged lips are the results of atrophy of mucosal glands and fat which also lead to lip lines, loss of the vertical lip role and cupid’s bow. There are several lip augmentation procedures that can enhance the size and shape of your lips. Full lips are associated with youth and can be achieved in a variety of methods, such as injectable substances, autologous fat injections, surgical enhancement, and permanent implants. To appreciate these options, ask Dr. Leake to discuss which option is best for you. Frequently, dermabrasion, peels, or laser around the mouth is performed in conjunction with lip augmentation (surgical vs. nonsurgical options) to correct tiny lines that cause lipstick to run.
